CONNECTED {Sustainable Souls January}

It's time to reveal some pretty exciting things happening this year..

I've joined a really great group of artists to bring forth an awareness of Planetary issues called The Sustainable Souls Project. Each month we'll be revealing some art pieces based on our views and feelings of various problematic issues.

January marks the start of our adventure and this month's theme is Connectedness.

I've worked up a trio of wooden panels in black and white with various layers of paint and texture, mark making, water and more.

My plan is for these pieces to be mounted to a larger backing (at a later date) and to have various forms of CONNECTION crossing them. You can see the start of my idea in patterns that cross from panel to another, color blocks that move across borders, and the awesome nails I've hammered into my pieces. Eventually a wire will stretch across the two boards from nail heads to nail heads. I've been on the lookout for some pieces that will really mean CONNECTION to me to finish this trio off.

PLANETARY CONNECTION in my heart simply means that all life forms are connected by a force, and it's important that we care about each and every one.. regardless of species, race, sexual orientation, heritage, economic standing or any other "dividing" factors. We are all part of this. together.

For now.. take a peek at my progress in the detail shots that follow, then pop on over to The Sustainable Souls Project blog to see the other amazing works.

  7. Simply inspiring. Love the creativity. There an art contest to exhibit at Brooklyn Waterfront museum this summer, the theme is black and white, this would be a good candidate. I'm not associated with them.
