Inspiration Wednesday 2016

do yooooooooooou do Inspiration Wednesday with Donna Downey?

I sure do! BROWN HOLES READY!

But really... it's such a great wealth of knowledge pouring out of Donna's artsy brain into this little journal.. and she shares it all. Every other Wednesday for an entire year for $35. YES Please!

I used Donna's $5 Journal Video to create this journal out of Tim Holtz fabric. I let Donna & Bill do all the work for the signatures and just bought those directly from them :)

Week 1 was super fun.. I am a little bit jealous of Donna's mastery over fluid acrylics BUT I still had fun and will just have to practice with them some more. I chose specifically TRUTH & the art of possibility because artistic truth is what I'm aiming for this year. :)

(I'll be posting weeks 2 3 and 4 later!)

Week 5 was super challenging for everyone I think.. I did end up going with a different color scheme.. I chose school bus yellow for the under layer.. covered with a really dark gorgeous gray. It must have taken me 2 hours to sand the paint off my #s... lol. The color I glazed with is Payne's Gray. I used the Waybill Invoice Background and Directional Circle stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps!. The words I used come from my Lost & Found Collection for 7 Dots Studio.

Week 7 may have driven me a little batty too... not because I had trouble with anything but because I made a rookie mistake. I neglected to cover my papers with medium while I was collaging. So I had a lot of bare space for the glazing to get stuck.. it ended up being a lot darker than was my plan, but is very worldly and well worn travel feeling. I used an UmWowStencil (Handwriting) & a Viva Las VegaStamps! rubber stamp. The map is from Hazel and Ruby.

  1. Very cool journal, Dee Dee! I don't see the "mistakes" that you refer to; just fabulous.
