Art Journaling + New Stamps!

Hi Folks! :) Today I'd like to share with you two things...

1) A bunch of new stamps I designed for Viva Las VegaStamps!

and

2) the outcome of one of our Art Journaling Classes!

Every 1st Sunday and 3rd Sunday of the month I teach a class down at The Crafting Place on Russell (By the airport for you local peeps!) all about art journaling. We go over supplies, techniques, tips n tricks. Each class is different, and each is fun! You bring yourself, $10, an apron, a journal and a non stick craft mat. I bring everything else.

{From our most recent #artjournalingclass}

Now let's move right into new stamps...

FULL of Art Journaling background bits.. patterned pieces, grunge pieces, textural elements and more! YUM. It has a Double Coffee Ring, Stitching, Tape X, Paper Clip, Mesh Texture, Texture Background, Writing Circles, Smear/Smudge, Bubble Wrap Texture, Measuring Tape Section, Six Staples, Staple X, Three Staples, and Writing Triangles. And those are all just on this one plate!

I've also done a few new stamps on other plates...

SO much goodness! I can't NOT use it all. I swear I've stamped every new stamp at least once. and most of them a hundred times!

Today on the VLVS! Blog I'm sharing an Art Journal Spread of one of our December #Artjournalingclass (es) that was all about cohesive background stamping and faux metal bits. Stop by there to see more details about the stamping.

The faux metal bits came from UmWowStudio's chipboard Layered Squares covered in metal tape and distressed! Other supplies include Prima Marketing / Finnabair's Black Gesso, Archival Ink by Ranger, Tim Holtz's Mini Attacher, pens, adhesive, and drywall tape. :)

I'll be back to post more about #artjournalingclass soon! ♥

Christmas Card Hop {Viva Las VegaStamps!}

Yay! Blog hop time with the fabulous VLVS! Design Team.

We've lined up to offer you some inspiration when it comes to Christmas Cards! There is a prize so be sure to stop by each blog and leave some love. One random comment wins a LB O' Rubber and a Christmas themed Grab Bag!

Our hop :
Onto my card eh?? I went with a woodsy sort of "All around good time" card using the Peace On Earth sentiment.

The base of the card is kraft cardstock. I livened up the background by stamping the brand new Sheet Music Background in nice rich Archival Black ink. I've been doing this whole creating new stamps thing a long time now, and even I'm surprised by the detail and glory this new background stamp has.

Peace On Earth was stamped in the same ink on a matching piece of kraft paper and then trimmed to size. The white block is a piece of white cardstock diecut. I trimmed off one side and adhered it down with Miracle Tape.

This version of Alice with Fawn/Deer is also from the brand new release. I adore how earthly, loving, and down to earth she feels. She makes a great Holiday themed stamp and gives her a little break from that maddening world.

My card was finished with a bundle of May Arts Twine, vintage button and some UmWowStudio Star Confetti

Thanks for stopping by today -- don't forget to leave me some love and then you're onto Glenda

Some Kind Of Genius {VLVS & TCW Tag}

Hi hi hihiiiiiiiiiiiii! Welcome to my blog today :)

I'm excited to be sharing some inspiration with you for Viva Las VegaStamps! and The Crafter's Workshop blog hop! Start at the VLVS! blog for all details.

I've put together a tag to share with you :)

The base is black cardstock layered with watercolor paper. I recently got some Golden Fluid acrylics and had to give them a go... I can't believe how fun they are!

I went back and forth between layering up the Golden Acrylics and Gesso through the TCW456 Sketch Grid stencil. It really created a beautiful background in bold bright colors with a nice contrast of stark white.

Then I stamped the Cheshire Cat Sitting in the bottom corner of the tag and used more acrylic paint to shadow him. Thicker paint closer to his outline, thinner paint in a feather outward from the edge. The tag was adorned with a Tim Holtz bulb wrapped in wire and held down with Tiny Attacher staples.

I also used the Set of 2 Hands Pointing in the title. GENIUS is spelled out with Pink Paislee alphas, and SOME KIND OF comes from Tim Holtz's label stickers. The top of the tag is finished with a little May Arts ribbon.

Don't forget to see what everyone else is up to today in our hop, and be sure to stay tuned all week to the Viva Las VegaStamps! blog. We'll be giving away prizes to a few of the commenters!
