May Arts & OWH

Today the Ribbonistas @ May Arts have joined together to celebrate Memorial Day with OWH. You can view all the cards here.

And here are some details about my own card:

The card base is white cardstock, with a cut piece of Authentique paper on top. I've layered a paper doily, 2 May Arts Ribbons, UmWowStudio Star Confetti and a My Mind's Eye epoxy brad for the focal point of the card.

There's a simple "Thank you" sentiment at the bottom from Viva Las VegaStamps!

And here you can see a bit better the dimension of this card. Sometimes it's hard for me to keep dimension at a minimum, but the ribbon really helped make this card feel full without being too bulky to still fit the OWH guidelines.

Stop by and see what everyone else has done!

Dapper {12x12 : Avery Elle | May Arts | UmWowSTudio}

This week we are swapping between Avery Elle, May Arts and UmWowStudio. I'll be bringing you at least 2 projects using all three, and maybe even 3 projects using all three fabulous companies.

Today I'm kicking of the week on the UmWowStudio blog with Amy Lassiter. If you head over there you can get the skinny on the week including prizes, stops and all the inspiration! {There's also a video over there on altering chipboard with Tim Holtz Distress Paints!}

Let's get to it shall we! For today's post I created this 12x12 called DAPPER:

The base is a super old piece of My Mind's Eye from their Meadowlark collection.

I've layered up bits n pieces of fun things like Chevron Confetti and Arrow Confetti chipboard, catalog cards, paper clips, washi tape, thread, Glimmer Mist, May Arts Baker's Twine and Avery Elle stamps in IMAGINE Crafts Versafine smoky grey.

This closeup shows you a piece from the Layered Stars set, a reinforcement from the Soar Tags, some bits n pieces from Authentique's Suave line, and a line from the Line of Chevrons Mask by UmWowStudio. There's also some grey thread, a few found pieces, and more of those adorable paper airplanes from Avery Elle.

Be The Author

Today I'm sharing a layout over on the Berry 71 Blue blog as a Special Guest Designer. Stop by and check out what's happening >>> you've been challenged to handmake a flower! I was given one of Marivic's beautiful handmade tags and wanted to utilize it, so I grabbed a chic selfie of my little sister and got to work.

My sister Ashley takes the cutest selfies ever! I grabbed my favorite piece of Nature Walk : Musical Blooms and a piece of Limba Wood embossed paper I picked up @ Paper Issues, trimmed and adhered the two together.

Here you can see the AMAZINGLY beautiful handmade tag that Marivic (Owner @ Berry 71 Bleu) sent me. It's so wonderful. I used it as an embellishment cluster, but all the coordinating and beauty was done for me. If you're interested in getting one of these tags, Marivic says you can send her an email, she makes them by request! I added only 1/3rd of a Chipboard Doily and a Chipboard Six Inch Ruler by UmWowStudio.

And now.. my handmade flower! I've diecut some Sizzix Tattered Floral cuts of the leftover piece of Musical Blooms. They've been layered together and adorned with a bauble from Prima. I layered the flower on top of the other 2/3rds Chipboard Doily and some Washi Tape from Gauche Alchemy.

The alphas are from a 7 Dots collection and my Dymo Label maker. There's a splattering of Tattered Angels glimmer mist, and a My Mind's Eye epoxy brad. There's also a line of May Arts Eyelet Lace between the Limba and Musical Blooms papers.

And that's all folks! Be sure to handmake some flowers and enter over @ Berry 71 Bleu!
