Enchanted Objects | Mixed Media Moods wall hanging

Welcome to Our Mixed Media Moods!

It's a monthly collaboration between myself & Mixed Media Jenn where we pump up our youtube channels with high quality mixed media videos.

This month we have a guest joining us.. Aaron Blazevich of Imperfect Impulses. How cool is that?!

This month I made the mood board :

Of course it got a bit SPOOKY for the time of year.. I drew from the color the most.. the vintage rusty type vintage tones. I also drew from the tree / wood aspect and the moth insects. I worked up a mixed media wall hanging :)

EEEEEEEK I LOVE THIS PIECE SO MUCH!

Now it's really hard to grab a good photo of something long like this... So .. onto the video tutorial, then detail shots (which are REALLY good!) a supply list & a link up! We also invite you to link up and check out what other artists up to inspired by our challenge :) Videos welcome, too!

Beautiful Wall Hanging

Hi hihihihi!!! The May Arts Ribbonistas are swapping with Basically Bare and Art Anthology in a giant beautiful .. well .. 3 way :D

We're combining ribbons, paints and bases and giving things away! THREE prizes that consists of 1 spool of ribbon, $25 of Basically bare and $25 of Art Anthology, EACH! Comment comment comment ♥

I pulled a middle page out of the Basically Bare Windows album and created a wall hanging for my little sister who's having a birthday this week!

I have primed the inside page with Art Anthology Gesso and layered up some 7 Dots Studio paper, May Arts Crochet Ribbon, Prima baubles and flowers, and Heidi Swapp stars. I love distressing things, having bits of paint and raggedy fibers all over my pieces. I strung some May Arts Crinkle ribbon along the top for easy hanging.

Here's a closeup of the clustering, I wish I could take credit for the gorgeous gold glitter on the flower, but those head honchos @ Prima are good! These alphas are also from 7 Dots Studio, the Domestic Goddess Collection. "You Are Beautiful" is a message that all women (and children, men, and whoever) need to embrace daily. Lately I've thought a lot about self image, uniqueness, and our places in the world and lives of others. And each person is truly beautiful. I know my sister can use a reminder, and I'm hoping she hangs this right above her bed, so she sees it every day when she wakes up.

This is a REALLY great shot of the May Arts Crocheted Ribbon. It's actual like .. crocheted thread fibers that can easily be snipped and grunged up a little bit. It comes in a MULTITUDE of colors and is just perfect. Happy Birthday little Sis :)

If you're here via my FB page or blog subscription, you'll want to head over to May Arts all week and see what the other Ribbonistas and teams have put together.
