Gelli Printing SUCCESS

Today I wanted to share a recap of our Gelli Printing class from Sunday -- there was a great big group of fabulous ladies who had so much fun just letting go and seeing what happens.

Lots of fun was had by all! We went over basic plate info and care, color application and paper choice. Then we introduced textures, stamps, mark makers, stencils and more. Here are a few of my favorite prints from students :

This comes from Gina W. and I am SO stricken by the depth in this piece.
Just. wow!

This print is by Christine W. and she as super bold and reached for Metallic paints.
She also used lots of UmWowStudio stencils and man....
this print is rooted in my vintage soul!!

This print is by Kimberly and the color combo... tho not my usual style...
is SO striking. Cheeeese louise. Isn't it cool???

This one is by Lynne and there might be "much" going on --- but I LOVE this..
the textures, the layers, the subtlety.. eek. I believe this was
her ghost print from her gradient play.

And now for a few prints of my own... I really enjoyed printing on some papers that already had some sort of pattern... in this case a piece of lined notebook paper and some graph paper. I also really loved showing the class how fun it can be to get surprise bits from your plate if you hold off on cleaning in between colors and prints.

And that's it! Lots of color and texture play... layering, printing, dabbing, printing. Can't wait to have the videos edited and ready to share via online class! :)

  1. I've been watching Barbara Gray, Clarity Stamps demoing the gelli plate, one can get wonderful prints!

  2. And now it is so hard to decide what to do with these... I just love looking at them.

  4. I'll be watching for the class. I have a plate but haven't used it.

  5. Wonderful prints from your gelatin plates! This is a technique that I've been wanting to play with, and your examples are really whetting my appetite!

  6. Love all the gelli printing images!! I too have a plant but am yet to use it...although I have used them in classes...
